About Us
GREENING BEESTON
In 2009 Greening Beeston was started to help local people reduce their use of energy and water. Since then we have seen all the harm being done by Global Heating caused by Greenhouse Gases, mainly carbon dioxide. Until we are using only renewable energy, we must reduce our energy consumption, in order to fight Climate Change.
In 2021 in the approach to COP26 we decided to launch our campaign “Hold On To Your Heat” with suggestions how to reduce heat loss from our houses, including cost-free actions, e.g. wearing a jumper or turning down the thermostat. Other more effective but costly changes involve insulation, starting with loft insulation. Now it is socially important too, not only because of the increasing cost of energy but also to reduce the likelihood of energy shortages.

Now we are trying to do more to help people make improvements to their homes by presenting information about the experiences of individual Beeston residents who have already made changes to theirs.
